Catch a Poem by the Tale: A Compilation of Poetry and Ponderance:
"Star number three is for the honesty and bravery it takes to document one's life with poetry. But the sad fact is I just didn't enjoy these poems very much. There's nothing wrong with raw expression, but when I read poems I expect more in the way of "

“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to."

Thanks for becoming my friend.
Since you Like Mark Twain, I recommend reading his 'Following the Equator' travelogue in case you haven't read it.
I just added two of my poems for feedback on the Discussion board (topic: poetry 'our tears were just painted on') in our group Poetry and Memoir. If you get the chance I'd like to hear your impressions. If you have any writing you'd like feedback on, please share.
Best wishes,
TK
