Jared Michael Choate Jr. was born in Kansas City, KS. As a baby, he relocated his family to Eau Claire, WI. Here he had brain surgery, attended Special Education, counted to 1,000,000 on his fingers, and had a birthday cake with Mr. T on it - all by the age of four.

He has B.S. degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, and has been on Dean’s Lists. (But that never meant anything.) After college he moved to Portland, Oregon on a Greyhound with two suitcases, where he worked for several years in social services, wrote his first screenplay, and never wore skinny jeans.
