Heidi Regan grew up in Newcastle, Australia before moving to London to seek her fortune and/or the true meaning of Christmas. She wrote for TV and radio as well working on her own film scripts and novels until an existential crisis spurred her to try standup comedy despite a crippling stage fright at the time. Heidi won the two newcomer awards; So You Think You’re Funny? and the BBC New Comedy Award prize and has been performing ever since. She currently lives with a friend and has zero pets to humanise her in this description but if she COULD own a pet it would totally be a rescue (probably one she personally rescued from a fire or a 101 Dalmations type situation though she’s never seen the film).

I found it to be the perfect antidote to doom scrolling on my phone at the end of a hard work day. How to Slay Dragons and Influence Peasants: Life Lessons from an Unlicensed Seer is a humorous comfort read, but also a very emotionally savvy and honest one.
