M-am născut în Sighişoara, la 21 martie 1951, într-o clădire din vechiul Burg, lipită de Turnul cu Ceas şi vecină cu casa Vlad Dracul. Probabil că de aici mi se trage dragostea pentru istorie. La trei ani ne-am mutat însă la marginea oraşului, unde dealul Breite începea chiar din curtea noastră. Am avut astfel libertatea de a bate toate coclaurile cu piciorul, fără îngrădiri sau limitări, ceea ce mi-a marcat definitiv destinul. Crescut ca un mânz nărăvaş, neînvăţat cu hamul, am dat cu copita şi-am muşcat pe oricine s-a apropiat de mine ca să mă pună să trag la căruţa lui.
