“Clearly it is impossible to adhere to the dogmas of the Catholic Church and, at the same time, believe the gospel. The two faiths are mutually exclusive. If a Catholic adheres to the dogmas of his church, he is condemned by the Word of God (John 12:48), whereas if a Catholic believes the Word of God, he is condemned with an anathema by his church. Catholics must place all their trust in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus for their salvation. This means repenting from the things that cannot save them and trusting the only One who can. The work of redemption is finished and the sacrifice of Christ is sufficient. We are all exhorted to destroy all arguments and traditions that oppose the revealed knowledge of God and take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).”
