Nicholas Spengler is from Burlington, Vermont. He has written literary biographies of Herman Melville and Mohawk poet Maurice Kenny for Scribner’s American Writers series. His poems have appeared in The Cafe Review, The Salon, and other journals.

He attended the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference in 2008 as an undergraduate fellow and holds a PhD in English from the University of Edinburgh. He currently teaches English literature in London.
