I have been a teacher for more than 20 years, working for the past fourteen years as a community college history instructor. I began writing online essays on a variety of topics in January of 2010, most of which can be found here:

The Hunger Games, pt. 1: Could This Ever Happen?

I do not consider myself to be anything close to an expert on youth literature, but I know enough about pop culture to realize that young people are attracted to some pretty dark stuff.
