Brooks Kohler grew up and lives in Southern Illinois. He writes mainly short stories but has, in the past, written longer works. His work is in both print and online publications.

He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta in the Field of History. He holds an M.A. in History and a B.A. in Philosophy from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.

From 2005 to 2007, Brooks worked for Amylase Entertainment in Nashville, TN. Returning to Illinois in 2008, he sold advertising for Reppert Publications before joining Shawnee Community College in Ullin, IL, as an adjunct instructor of liberal arts.

In 2013, Brooks created Laptiast .com, a website in which he beta read for authors. In November 2020, Brooks closed Laptiast to focus on teaching a ...more
