Sejal Shah is the author of the debut essay collection This Is One Way to Dance (University of Georgia Press, 2020) and the short story collection How to Make Your Mother Cry: fictions (West Virginia University Press, 2024). Her essays and stories have appeared in Brevity, the Kenyon Review, Lit Hub, and the Rumpus, among others. She is the recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, an award from the New York State Council for the Arts and residencies from Blue Mountain Center, The Millay Colony, The Ragdale Foundation, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
