by Brian Rohr (Goodreads Author) |
|
| Rohr's meditations on his first year-long study of the Torah are at once ancient and spiritual while firmly rooted in our contemporary world. In "If You Are Willing," he writes, "let in ancient mythic images, / so the real world can waken you open / ...more | |

| If Taylor Swift were truly a “tortured poet,” she might produce a book like Brute. The theme of a cataclysmic breakup runs throughout these poems which range in appeal from the sometimes taboo “accessible” to the cooly hermetic. Startling shifts and ...more | |

| Some really good stories in this book, each presenting reality which is just a little (or a lot) off. The final three stories are the best, in my opinion. | |

| I’ve been despairing that I hadn’t read a good book all year. When I read a review of this short suspenseful novella, I thought I might at least end the year on an up note. The book is very suspenseful and draws you into its mysteries at a breakneck ...more | |
