Sean Keefe was born and raised in Warrington, Cheshire, and now lives in Preston, where he wanders the country playing musical instruments for a living. To date, he's released three albums, a novel, been the subject of a documentary movie, is the only person to have appeared on Countdown wearing a hat in its 30 year history, and is the only man ever to navigate the 42 mile long Lancaster Canal in a pedalo, playing a concert at every venue along the way.

Hmm. Sharpe by numbers. The book’s at pains to tell us that the stakes are hugely high, and yet, every character feels indestructible. Sharpe just goes through the motions, and there’s a huge amount of repetition, often on the same or next page. Curi ...more

In terms of Rankin’s Brentford books, this is the most far fetched gubbins of them all. Thoroughly enjoyable for anyone who’s ever followed the exploits of Pooley and Omalley. And an ending, of sorts… Loved it!
