Sean Keefe was born and raised in Warrington, Cheshire, and now lives in Preston, where he wanders the country playing musical instruments for a living. To date, he's released three albums, a novel, been the subject of a documentary movie, is the only person to have appeared on Countdown wearing a hat in its 30 year history, and is the only man ever to navigate the 42 mile long Lancaster Canal in a pedalo, playing a concert at every venue along the way.

Definitely one of the top Rankin books, featuring the legendary Hugo Rune. Loved every minute!

If part 1 was a little underwhelming, this second part’s everything that’s brilliant about Robert Rankin dialled up to maximum, and most importantly, is FUNNY!

Better than both movies, the book’s more streamlined, more dryly humorous, more thematic, and just downright GREAT. One of the greatest westerns ever written.

Couldn’t get past the first 50 pages or so. Found it to be boring, cliched, outdated drivel with zero tension. And don’t get me started on the character of Q’ute. Might have been ok in the early eighties, but I found this to be more embarrassing than ...more

I LOVE Rankin, read this years ago, and after a reread, it’s one of his best, just a joy throughout. One star off for the rushed ending, but overall, this is him at his absolute crackers best.

When I first read this, I really didn’t like it. I wanted a full autobiography from The Rik, and instead I got him in full on character, Rik mode. Reading it again, nearly ten years later and more than that since he left us, and God, I miss the man. T ...more

A potted history of the frankly ridiculous things done in the name of religion in the last couple of thousand years. Well researched, presented, and highly readable. Recommended for everybody with even the least bit of a functioning brain.
