After a long illness, Hans Martin died in the Hague, the Netherlands, at the age of 77. He was a Dutch author and journalist who wrote some twenty novels. One of his novels, Malle gevallen was made into a film.

His first novel was published in 1908 and his books were well-read, both in the Netherlands and abroad (especially in Scandinavia), as several of his books were translated.
