Brian Benson is the author of Going Somewhere (Plume, 2014) and co-author, with Richard Brown, of This Is Not For You (OSU Press, 2021). Originally from a Wisconsin town with three bars and no stoplights, he now lives in Portland, Oregon, where he teaches at the Attic. His essays have appeared in Pithead Chapel, X-R-A-Y, Tahoma Literary Review, Off Assignment, and Hippocampus, among many other journals. He is at work on his third book, a memoir-in-essays about modern masculinity.

An absorbing, expertly paced, all-too-real fever dream of a story, full of pathos and humor and horror and absolutely stellar sentences. Loved it.
