Author Edwin Hanks has been writing fiction since elementary school, and has been professionally employed as a writer and editor, including a stint writing strategy guides for historical strategy games. Over the years he has penned various works of science fiction and historical fiction. But his fantasy novel, Uprooted - the first in the Brothers of Orinthia series - is his first officially published book.

He married into a family of three children and a bunch of cats (currently three). He has lived near the mountains of Colorado, USA, all his life, where he enjoys hiking with his wife and a soon-to-be-adopted basenji mix they're fostering for the shelter. I could make excuses as well as the next guy, but I won't except to say that recent years since I published the first version of Uprooted have been full of major changes that have distracted from my writing.
