Debra Tidball is an author, social worker, blogger and children's book reviewer. Her first picture book, 'When I See Grandma' was shortlisted for the Speech Pathology Australia Book of the Year and won the children’s book category of the CALEB award in 2014. Her second, 'The Scared Book,' is a CBCA Notable and heaps of interactive fun with sneaky opportunities for kids to learn about conquering their fears. Debra also has flash fiction and short stories published in anthologies and The School Magazine. An energetic speaker, Debra loves engaging an audience with stories and games to spark imagination.

Wife of one, mother of two and caretaker to a menagerie of furry (and sometimes feathery) friends, she lives in suburban Sydney.

This gorgeous picture book is a must-have tonic for our times. Full of Lisa Nicol’s trademark whacky humour and heart, with Michel Streich’s wonderfully whimsical, detailed and joyful illustrations. I’m gifting it to all my little people.

I loved this MG cold case mystery - perfect for young readers and also enjoyable for adults too. Makes me want to go and read AL Tait’s Danger Road…

A thoroughly enjoyable read that pulled me through to the end nicely. Excellent characterisation in an epistolary format, with humour and pathos.

A slowly unwinding, beautiful novel, with a stellar opening chapter about rain, and fascinating insights into the advent of electricity. But at its core, a wise, moving story about the human heart.
