I was born and raised in the foothills of Sunland, California. We had goats. We had chickens. We had rabbits. And we ate them. I had no idea this wasn't normal for Los Angeles until high school. My roommate teases me for being a redneck, but man do I miss fresh eggs every morning!

I was in the "slow" group of readers in first grade, but I loved stories, so I practiced hard and got better. In grade school, I took my first crack at writing, and managed a whole ten pages. I didn't know it at the time, but what I was writing was urban fantasy!
