Born in Liverpool into a seafaring family with over a century's history in shipping. At the age of ten, he started to collect shipping histories, photographs and books. As his interest in all thing maritime developed, he began to make his own ship models and drawings, and today he has an extraordinary collection, all to scale, covering over 60,000 merchant ships in 5,400 shipping companies, and over 100,00 warships from all the nations of the world.
