I love SF, and always will, but I can't write it to save my life. Horror started flirting with me in High School and we've carried on a passionate affair ever since. I have a great love of short fiction, and I aspire to never write a novel.

S. Nash and 1 other person liked Alasdair Stuart's review of Countess:
Countess by Suzan Palumbo
"Relentless

Stunningly well realised riff on the Count of Monte Cristo. The cost of resistance and the resistance to cost filtered through the lens of space opera. This is what you read after finishing Andor."

“Could you turn that off? I hate the fucking Smiths.”

“Swoopers write a story quickly, higgledy-piggledy, crinkum-crankum, any which way. Then they go over it again painstakingly, fixing everything that is just plain awful or doesn’t work. Bashers go one sentence at a time, getting it exactly right before they go on to the next one. When they’re done they’re done.”
