Elmer W. Lovrien completed a two-year writing program at The Loft for Writers in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He writes short stories full time. His past weaves its way through a world of social work, newspaper writing for a small town daily newspaper, pre-school teaching, parent education, and crisis counseling. He has travelled extensively by bicycle, pedaling from coast to coast in the United States and through France. He is a small town plumber's son, a one-time altar boy and high school sports enthusiast. His stories reflect many of those experiences. He has been published in the Lake Region Review and has written stories and articles for parenting, family and fathering journals and magazines.
