Following a childhood sunburning and loving it in Hawai'i, Krista Mathews studied Classical Archaeology, English, and History at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Between the two, she learned to love the study of culture, etymology, and the consequences of really huge mistakes.

She wrote THE NAMES THEY WERE GIVEN (May 2004) to delve into the fantasy world of her imagination, a world with Greek and Roman ties and very modern use of language. Thank her Greek language teachers for the words used in it.
