Tom McDonald is the youngest of seven children born to William Ervin and Pauline Lindsey McDonald. He spent his boyhood and part of his teenage years living in the East Florence community. Almost his entire family, parents, grandparents, brothers, sister, aunts, uncles and most cousins attended Brandon Elementary School. Mr. McDonald met his future wife, Margo Wilson, while both were students at Central High School. They were married in 1965 and have two children, Amy and Will. Mr. McDonald received his B. S degree from the University of North Alabama and his M. A. and Ed. S. degrees from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
