The Right Rev. George Hay was Roman Catholic Bishop of the Lowland District in Scotland from 1788 to 1805. He earned a reputation as as a religious writer based on his cycle of Catholic doctrine entitled The Sincere Christian, The Devout Christian, and The Pious Christian (1781–86).
