Jeff,Hope you are well.
I recently bought and read your new parable RAIN. I loved it. Great job.
Every high school and junior high kid needs to read this book. Maybe help frame up some kind of work ethic!
Here is what else!
The private Christian school where my boys attend is going to have an essay competition using RAIN as the featured book.
This will be for the 25 students who will be attending Student Leadership University this summer. They all have to raise money to pay for their trip to either Wash DC or Orlando, depending on if it is their first or second year.
Office Pride is underwriting the competition and giving $500 scholarship to first place, $250 to 2nd, $100 to 3rd. Full tuition is $975 for year two and $675 for year one students.
The student's task - to read first 128 pages of RAIN and write a 2-3 page essay on "The top five things I learned from Rain about being a leader and why."
Anyway, I proposed this at a meeting tonight and all the parents were excited about the idea and believe their kids will learn even if they don't win.
In fact, after my comments, the parents are excited to read the book too.
I think this can be a huge marketing niche for you.
The winners will be selected by independent judges, with numbers on the papers, not names.
Have any other schools done anything like this?
Is their anything you can offer to make this idea or competition better?
I will keep you posted on how it all goes.
Blessings,
Todd

What a Paperboy Learned About Business
Jeffrey J. Fox
Read by Jeffrey J. Fox
Sounding both earnest and relaxed, Jeffrey Fox's outstanding reading makes his latest business audio a must-hear for professional salespeople, negotiators, managers, and entrepreneurs. The lesson starts with the story of Rain, an energetic paperboy who wins customers, influences people, and builds a business with pluck and determination. Fox's soft vocal urgency, along with his ability to write dialogue, create enormous curiosity about where the story is going and when the lesson's abstractions will be delivered. In the program's second half, each phase of Rain's adventure becomes a springboard for Socratic teaching on topics like ethics, customer service, innovation, and respect for one's teachers. The strategies are intelligent, but it's the author's warmth and humanitarian tone that will make the audio's power and influence endure.
