Dr. Keith Vincent Smith, a former journalist, poet and Vietnam war correspondent and founder-editor of Earth Garden magazine, is an independent historian and curator, specialising in the ethnology and history of the Indigenous People of the Sydney coastal area.

He is the author of King Bungaree (1992), Bennelong (2001), MARI NAWI Aboriginal Odysseys (2010) and Walking with Bennelong (forthcoming).
Keith was the curator of MARI NAWI: Aboriginal Odysseys, 1790-1850, an exhibition at the Mitchell Library, Sydney, in 2010.

He co-curated the exhibition EORA: Mapping Aboriginal Sydney 1770-1850, with Anthony Bourke (2006) and was senior researcher for the first episode of the SBS television series First Australians (2009).
