Mohamed Talbi (محمد الطالبي),est un universitaire et islamologue tunisien.
Il soutient à la Sorbonne sa thèse de doctorat d'histoire sur les Aghlabides en 1961. Également agrégé d'arabe, il deviendra un historien spécialiste du Moyen Âge au Maghreb.
Premier doyen de la faculté des lettres de l'Université de Tunis, il entre au Conseil national pour les libertés en Tunisie (ONG alors non autorisée par le gouvernement) en 1995.
Talbi prône une lecture vectorielle du Coran qui consiste à prendre en compte l'intentionnalité du livre saint et non pas les jugements émis à une époque révolue. ...more
