Rich Barbuto is emeritus professor of history and has served as the deputy director of the Department of Military History at the US Army Command & General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas since 2004. A 1971 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, he served for twenty-three years as an armor officer with tours of duty in Germany, Korea, and Canada. He also served as exchange instructor at the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College in Toronto. Barbuto received his Master of Arts degree in History from Eastern Kentucky University and his Ph.D. from the University of Kansas.
