Antje Wagner wurde in Lutherstadt Wittenberg (Sachsen-Anhalt) geboren und wuchs in einem kleinen Elbdorf im Fläming auf. Sie studierte deutsche und amerikanische Literatur- und Kulturwissenschaften in Potsdam und Manchester. Ihre Magisterarbeit schrieb sie über Verbindungen im Denken und Schreiben Schillers, Gertrude Steins und Ernst Jandls und deren „aktivierende“ Wirkung auf den Leser. Später arbeitete sie als Kellnerin und als Sprecherin, u.a. fürs Bildungsfernsehen.
Sie schreibt Romane, Erzählungen und Theaterstücke und übersetzt auch aus dem Englischen. Sie lebt und arbeitet in Hildesheim und Potsdam.
