Sebastián Hugo Vargas es un escritor argentino de literatura juvenil, nacido en Buenos Aires en 1974. Profesor de Lengua y Literatura española, además de Latín, se graduó en el Instituto Superior del Profesorado Joaquín V. González. Además de escribir, trabaja como editor, corrector y traductor de textos literarios de alemán e inglés. Ha publicado traducciones de las obras de Goethe, E. T. A. Hoffmann y Jack London. También ha realizado trabajos del francés, chino y catalán. Atraído por la mitología y las leyendas tradicionales de diversas culturas, ha publicado versiones de narraciones de este tipo en Mitos de transformación y disfraz (2000), y Sabias palabras del Oriente (2011).
