Barbara K. Seeber nació en Innsbruck, Austria, y vivió allí hasta los 13 años, cuando su familia emigró a la costa oeste de Canadá. Actualmente, es profesora de Literatura Inglesa en la Brock University, en St. Catharines, Ontario. Sus áreas de especialización incluyen la literatura del siglo XVIII, los estudios sobre Jane Austen y los estudios animales.
