Diplômée du Liberal Arts College de l’Université Concordia et titulaire d'une maîtrise en littérature comparée (Université de Montréal), Rima Elkouri travaille à La Presse depuis 1998. Elle est chroniqueuse depuis 2001.

Lauréate du prix Jules-Fournier du Conseil supérieur de la langue française du Québec, elle s’intéresse entre autres choses aux enjeux liés aux droits des femmes dans le monde, que ce soit dans la foulée du printemps arabe au Moyen-Orient, du mouvement #MeToo au Canada ou de la crise migratoire en Europe.
