He is also a Viking re-enactor who enjoys nothing more than standing in the shield wall with his three sons, who are as passionate about swords and axes as he is (when he is not stuck in his coat of mail; it's harder than it looks).

His dogs think he is their slave.

John Gwynne's first series, The Faithful and the Fallen, is epic fantasy that spans four instalments. It is set in the The Banished Lands, as is his sequel trilogy, Of Blood and Bone.

John Gwynne's most recent completed series is The Bloodsworn Saga, an epic fantasy trilogy that has sold over one-million copies worldwide. In a land shaped by the bodies of dead gods and inspired by Norse Mythology, war is brewing.

His latest work and most personal to date is The Wolves of War, book one of a duology called The Wolfheart Chronicles. Set to be published on November the 3rd, the central character is inspired by his disabled daughter Harriett, the most heroic person he has ever known. Influenced by Slavic Mythology, this series is Carrie meets The Witcher.

He is represented by Julie Crisp.
