Hi Jasper! We have tried exactly that model of membership, and it works for most people but does not create face-to-face experiences, only virtual online community. We have to grow and promote EP more, so now there is a forum page, an Epicurean Radio page, and other initiatives. (There's also a "Garden of Epicurus" group on FB). For now we are a loose group of friends. I'd invite you to introduce yourself @ epicureanfriends.com and express your interest, and tell us where you are, maybe you'll find kindred spirits there. Also, I'd advise you to read Organization and Procedure in Epicurean Groups (and also "Epicurus and his Philosophy" by Norman DeWitt):

I'm wondering if there are any plans to make this a membership organisation that can bring together people (perhaps on a screened or pre-qualified basis?) who broadly identify with the philosophy as it can be lived in fellowship (I'm thinking of something along the lines of a Rotary Club or Lions Club)...?
If you'd like to discuss this, feel free to contact me on FB: Jasper Sky.
