Magical things happen to the residents of Avening. The idyllic Pacific coast town is protected by Autumn,
a powerful member of the Jaen sisterhood—a sort of good-witch collective. But the time has come for
Autumn to join her sisters and leave her beloved hometown in the care of a protégé. She is given a list of
13 names and must figure out why each person is on it. Among them is quiet Ellie, who can make herself
invisible; brash Stella, who is a healer; sensual Ana, who can bend time; and writer Piper and her
daughters, who all have special abilities. Debut novelist Foster is a songwriter, and it shows in the lyrical
quality of this novel. Her interwoven plot is ambitious and, at times, murky. But the romantic, mystical
setting and appealing characters will delight readers searching for a modern-day fairy tale.

Sounds like an interesting read, although I'm not too hip on fantasy--reading DB Pacini's novel, now "Loose End of the Rainbow" although it is a YA tale--but I might try this book if you recommend it, and I'm sure you will.
Good luck with it.
