I have great news and not-so-great news. In the Not-so-great category: the publisher who published the first 3 Embraced books declined to go back to contract with me for the last two books.
The great news: I have found a new publisher, Kensington, who will publish books 4 & 5 of the Embraced series!! Since it's a new publishing house, they will have to change the name of the series, but it will be close to the same, probably called Embraced by Magic, and they will label the books 1 and 2, since they will be their first and second books. But for all real purposes, it will be Books 4 & 5, continuing the saga with Sorcha's book, titled How to Love Your Elf, and the last book, Brody and Maeve's story, which I am working on now and haven't titled yet.
And finally, in the Not-so-great category, I have a release date for book 4-- May 2020. I know that hurts. It hurts me, too. The book is finished, but we have a long wait. Why? Because when you move to a new publisher, all the slots in their schedule are already full for the next 18 months or so, and that means a new author is put at the end of the queue. Fortunately, once book 4 finally comes out, it will not be a long wait for the final book (Maeve's and Brody's) since I will already be put into their schedule.
And there you have it-- books 4 & 5 will happen, just not as soon as we would like. I am really sorry for all this-- it was something out of my control, but I've done the best I could since I was determined to finish the series for my readers who have Embraced it.
