Some interesting news.

Late last year, I was invited to provide a novella for a summer murder/mystery anthology, based on the two themes of holiday and July.

Of course, in my own inimitable way, I wrote a story set in 1947 when a war veteran travels to Darwin in the Northern Territory of Australia to visit the grave of his best friend, killed during the Japanese bombings in 1942.

I had crushing news yesterday that the editor has decided not to go ahead with the anthology (even though he LOVED the story-his caps, not mine). I immediately spoke with my publisher and sent the manuscript. It's to be published on Amazon and KU as an e-book. Only 18k words long, it won't hold up as a paperback.

There's quite a bit of heat in this story, reminiscent of The Boys of Bullaroo. I'll keep you informed as to its release date.

PaperMoon Och! Sounds like a good read but I'm greatly a-fearing another 'heartbreaking tale' as per Spider & Parker.

Leigh Ann Wallace Looking forward to it. :)

Garrick Jones I'm hoping that my first story in KU might round up a new audience who don't buy books. They can then perhaps look at the eBook versions of my other stories. It's worth a try, and I really liked writing this story.

Leigh Ann Wallace Fingers crossed for you. I've never gone the KU route. Gotta buy them. I never know what I'm going to be in the mood for, and for KU (like the public library), you're under a time constraint.

I'm reading Boys of Bullaroo next.

Garrick Jones Since this story is so short (comparatively) only 18k words, it won't hold a cover as a paperback, so I thought I'd give KU a shot. A lot of people only use KU, so I thought it might be worthwhile trying it to see if I can break into a new audience. Boys of Bullaroo was my first book, the one with the most heat, and still my best seller lol. I really hope you enjoy it.
