Scared, terrified and EXCITED
As this is my first blog post on goodreads it seemed only fitting it be about my story, Dark Days, which is now live on kindle.
WOW. I'm not sure how others feel when their book goes live, but for me it has stirred a whole kaleidoscope of emotions.
Fear, excitement, worry. The list goes on.
Fear that it won't sell after putting my heart and soul into it. After giving up every moment of my free time for the last six months to work on it, to the detriment of my family and my social life.
Excitement that maybe it will sell. That maybe it will bring me a little closer to my dream.
Worry about how it will be received. I've sold 24 copies so far (small fry to some but amazing to me). I can't help wondering what people are thinking as they read it. If they are enjoying it or feeling ripped off.
Worry/excitement/fear: Reviews. They scare the crap out of me.

I haven't been on Goodreads for a VERY long time, (dodgy internet connection that I'm stuck with until my lease expires and I can move).
Needless to say, since it has been some months you may or may not have read Dark Days and may or may not have enjoyed it, BUT I still wanted to say thankyou for taking the time to write me and let me know, and also to say thank you for sharing it on your 'My Books Addictions' FB Page and Twitter. You have no idea how much that means to me that someone would do that for someone they don't even know. It completely blows me away. What an amazing person you are.
PS - just checked out your website and saw that you are writing your own debut book, and that it is post apocalyptic fiction. That was me not so long ago!! I wish you the very best of luck. Let me know when it is published :)
