Awesome! I followed New York way back in the day and they were by far my favorite band! I lived at the Silver Dollar whenever they were in town and followed them to Paulo's in Grand Rapids, AlRosa in Columbus and McGuffy's in Dayton. They never did a set that I didn't love and all of the guys are so talented. Even the crew was special. Bart, Joe, Andy and Donnie worked thier tails off to support the guys onstage to give the best possible show everytime they played. I miss those days and the Silver Dollar. I can honestly say that I can't remember most of the bands that played there but I will always "Carry the Torch" for New York. I even have my tee shirts and EP's still floating around after all these years. For me, when Freddy left the band, that was the end of what I look back on as a large part of the best time in my life. Still love you guys!Gena VanDerMoere- Bates

Great to hear from you. I sent you an email here on your Goodreads page. I'm not on FB at this time but I put my email address in the message I sent you. Wow! So good to hear from you.

Hey Chris,
I'm betting we probably have met. I'm guessing I saw New York upwards near a hundred times. Met so many amazing people who were and are New York fans. It's so cool to hear from others, such as you and Gena, who share these fantastic memories. Hoping to hear from others as well. Great times, they were. Thanks for the comments.

Hi Chris, Just want to say that you are no slouch in the talent department yourself! I love getting your newsletter and listening to your music that you have posted on your site.

Snagged these from Facebook Chris, hope you don't mind!
My 11 yr old son , Seth, just got a guitar. He got a right handed one for Christmas (he's a leftie) from his sister and a couple of her friends. He just started lessons and we had to get a left handed one cause he was having trouble playing right handed. He plays anything he has heard on the guitar hero games by ear.It may not be correct chords yet but he'll get there. He's been creating his own music for 2 years on the keyboard without ever having taken a lesson. He plays the trumpet in the school band and teaching himself the trombone. Gotta start somewhere and he plays from the heart. As long as he enjoys himself I can't think of a better way for him to learn to express himself. He has high functioning autism and this is the first time he has shown an interest in anything so I am definately encouraging him.

Yeah, I sometimes drift into the past. That's why I wrote this piece. The present is good, but the past has so many wonderful memories. Just a reminder that we're all growing older.
Shhhh! No!!!! I refuse to grow older!?!?!?! *stomps foot!* Hear me! I refuse! *grins* Ok, I refuse until I fully wake, roll over and my body goes, "Erm, yeah, *snap, crackle, pop* Dayum woman! You're gettin' old!"Oh well, in my heart and mind I can stay young at least!
