up to nine

Here's an update on the latest blog viewing figures. The last post had 5 views in an hour, followed by 4 more a day later. I have no idea who these people are - it's definitely not me clicking on 9 times to view my own post.

Sales are very slow; well, in the sense that most authors on the forums seem to consider them, but I am always pleasantly surprised when even a single copy goes out, as one of 'The Rink' did overnight. One is always left wondering who that was and hoping that they will find something to enjoy in it. Very few readers seem inclined to leave reviews but as the review process itself on Amazon is under suspicion anyway, does that really matter. The best hope is that someone occasionally uses 'Look Inside' and likes what they see.

Currently reading a couple of Agatha Christie Poirots, partly out of curiosity and partly to help contextualise my own amateurish detective fiction efforts. They (Agatha's!) aren't sophisticated at all but something keeps you reading, and that's the magic, I suppose.

Five again...methinks this is some automated blog-reading device on Goodreads, and that I have five fewer readers than I thought!
