I wonder how many writers have the same style, if any. I have just transitioned from contemporary Christian fiction to historical Christian fiction, so my style has changed to fit the genre.

Much more research is required for historical. I find myself taken back to the time frame that I am writing about. I think of my story and my characters constantly. My mother lived during the roaring twenties, so I can relate her stories, and they are many.

My style of writing has changed also. I have the story in my head rather than on an outline. I fear an outline would limit my creativity.

I would love to hear from others who have switched from contemporary to historical or vice versa.
