...being a co-organizer of a book club: picking good books for the group to read. Our first meeting was all-too memorable after we resurrected the club. We chose "The Guns of August" by Barbara W. Tuchman. Rousing wasn't in it--2 men got into an argument and left separately with great flourish, never to return. The rest of the year went well--better with classics, but we learned a lot. One Pulitzer, one non-fiction, a classic crime novel, a light summer read, one current best seller. Last Monday of the month meeting. Such an insightful, interactive group. Wouldn't miss our get-togethers for anything.
