Book discussion reading in L.A.

Hi Everyone, if you happen to be in Los Angeles tonight (May 8), I'll be talking about some of the vintage photos in MADAM: A Novel of New Orleans and doing a brief reading. It'll be at the wonderful indie store Book Soup on Sunset Blvd. at 7pm.

I'm also about to try my hand at making pralines for the first time. Now, I am fully aware that it's daring (and perhaps foolish) to try a recipe for the first time on the day you're planning to serve said dish. But here I have (not surprisingly) waited until the last minute. But I've got my candy thermometer (um, still in it's package) waiting!

Stacy Cook Wish I could be there, but seeing how I live in Omaha, Nebraska it probably isn't going to happen. Loved, loved, loved the book though. Hope all goes well tonight with the reading and the pralines. Peace, Stacy

Cari Lynn Hi Stacy,
Thanks so much for your very kind words. I'm so glad you liked Madam! (If you don't mind, would love if you could post a review on Amazon, too). As for the pralines, who knew, they're pretty simple to make! A few dozen ready to go. I'll let you know if I'm ever in Omaha. Thanks again, Cari

Sheilamarie Hope one day you will write a continuance or sequel to Madam. Now you've got me hooked on reading about historical whores. Amazon thanks you and my wallet does not! Haha

Stacy Cook I thought I had posted a review to Amazon, but will do so this week as it must have been an oversite. Have you read Empire of Sin? It's in this months giveaways on Goodreads and Librarything by Gary Krist and is about Storyville and Tom Anderson, sound familiar? I hope I win a copy so I can compare it with your book, which by the way I suggested my library purchase. Thanks again for a fabulous read.

Cari Lynn Hi Sheilamarie, yep, I'm at work on a new book. Will keep you posted. In the meantime, let me know if you learn anything interesting about other historical whores! :)
