The Status of our Culture

It seems of late to be debate
About the limits of our hate
Our melting pot is over hot
And tolerance has been forgot
It's black and white are hurt for spite
It's cops and crime not out of sight
It's are we free to refuse thee
As baking cakes marks liberty
No longer live and let live reign
No treat another just the same
And in a country free to choose
How did we ever come to lose
The right to say a prayer or two
In public squares for me and you
Yet what has changed can change again
If you and I can be as friends
And tolerate each others ways
Perhaps there will be better days
