Game of Thrones Revival.

Basically, no direwolves no dragons and not enough Jon Snow to save the show or the series in general. Plus the beleaguered North has way too much to remember. This season of Song of Ice and Fire's exploitation kinda sucked for me....until I saw the 8th episode of Game of Thrones season Five. Bloody seven hells, what did I just watch?

The showrunners more than redeem themselves and restore the faith of all their fans; just watch the deserters (myself included) jump back on the ship that is far from sinking, it's evident. Those who were worried that the show was losing its edge have naught to fear, this penultimate offering sharpens the show like a whetstone does a blade.
There were many who were braying about the show's declining quality but D&D more than rekindled everyone's interest in all things GoT.
This episode was pure gold and I am not even talking about the satisfying meeting between everyone's favorite two main players of this wondrous (often frustrating ) game.

No one does the chosen one and would be savior quite like Jon Snow and this season he is the only saving grace. In this episode he is just so so cool, every bit the Stark everyone thinks he is *wink wink*

Oh the stare downs, the premonitions, the not so subtle prophecies and the foreboding, God the foreboding, the delighted foreboding !

Episode 8th may have just saved the show just like Jon Snow saved the day. Well, sort of.

The liberties taken in this are to be cherished, the departure from the books are to be celebrated if it is done right like with this episode. This type of deviation from the source material I am more than okay with; I fully support it in fact. For this kind of creativity of the create licence improves the overall product.
seven gods what did I just watch?
Astounding. There is hope for this show yet and fully looking forward to the show's finale and the hooded hints of "The Mother's Mercy."

don't let it be just a taunt. This time around.

Make no mistake; this episode was a penance and what an atonement this was.

footnote : when I said the 8th episode was the penultimate, I meant that I usually consider the 8th to be the last second and the 9th to be the finale because everything goes down in that one of every season and 10 episode usually are fillers and used as setups for the next season....until this season's 10th episode, even though I am a book series guy too, still that felt like a sucker-punch. Damn you D&D lol

Ṣafā Interesting....All I remember (because before this year I'd wait and then watch the whole season in a day or two) is both times when I saw Hardhome my mind was like BOOM! What just happened?!

Jon, yeah, his brooding unsung self was on the way to becoming adorable, he's the most genuine person on the show.

The foreboding! Yes! Haha

Creative deviation, yes, what's the point if they're not going to make it better.

And last season!

Weirdly I miss the Tyrell siblings like humans, Olenna's vendetta and mourning is appropriate.

I like to separate the two, may be because I didn't read the books until last year.

I've been missing Ghost.

Hardhome was the reason I started blogging in the first place . Before that , I wasn't into it never availed that option . I watched Hardhome was I like , I have to talk about it .

That's actually what I do with other shows , I wait and then watch the whole thing . But with GoT you can't do that lol

Foreboding , creative difference , last season indeed ! Last season was the best .

Yeah , my brother says Jon Snow's story line is the most interesting and not yet stale .

I liked them too , the Tyrell twins . knight of the flowers was a badass in the books . Have you seen the Iron Fist ?

Ghost , yeah

You know , that's interesting .

I first read the books back in 2012 and since 2014 been been rereading them pretty regularly .

Ohhh, soo glad you did, love the GR author blog feature, you can put up anything, and yours is so diverse. :)

I had exams every year at the end of April so I couldn't and I wait for at least a bunch of episodes for every show so...but this year and the next it's different so.

I like Loras' portrayal in the books a lot, too. No, I haven't.

Interesting, I used to read HP all the time (literally) until like 2014 I guess.
