Your Favorite Reading Perch(es)

Everybody has a preferred place to hang out when they're reading. This assumes you've got the leisure to read between all shopping, work, and just keeping together body and soul. As a kid, I liked to read books in a shady copse of pin oaks. Reading on a bus or auto that's in motion leaves me sick. On the other hand, reading in bed at night seems to claim a lot of my book time. I don't have an e-book reader (yet), so I can't comment if owning one makes it easier to read during the various slow times throughout the day. I see readers in the bistros and coffeehouses, but the outside noise distracts me.

Alan Williams I read anyplace I can when I have time (which isn't as often as I would like). Mainly this is on the train to/from work and in bed at night before sleeping.

My favourite place to read currently, is sitting in the conservatory looking out over the garden with some freshly brewed coffee on hand. This is where I have been today, and finished Pete Fromm's - "Indian Creek Chronicles", which is an amazing tale.

Other than that anywhere quiet and secluded works for me, preferably away from the hustle and bustle of the world. I don't tend to be able to read in coffee shops or similar as I end up people watching.

I have just bought a Kindle but it hasn't arrived yet. I hope that this will enable me to solve several problems (having too little space for too many books, and being able to carry more than one book at once). Will see if it lives up to those expectations.

My favorite place is ensconced in pillows on my divan with my Kindle 3 or DTB, where I can also see out my front window--the ever changing landscape of wind and clouds on the mountains.

But I really read whenever and wherever--very often at my computer, where I have Nook and Kindle apps. I click into Accuradio and find my music du jour (right now it's playing Celtic).

Cheers!

Karen I read any place and anytime I get a chance but my favorite time is in the evening between 5 and midnight and across my bed away from the noise of the house (kids, dog, tv). I don't have a Kindle or Nook. I like the page turning and watching the book go from beginning to end. On a good day I can even sneak in a few chapters at work.
