First Crack

This blog post is aptly named because this is my first crack at writing a blog post thingy, so I'm not sure how all this works, but I'm just going to put this out there, and see what you all have to say about it...

A few months back, a woman messaged me saying she was interested in purchasing on of my books, said the description sounded interesting, but wanted to know if there was cheating (infidelity) in the book. Here was my answer:
"There is betrayal in the story at many levels. My stories are seldom fairy tales. Life is complicated and my stories reflect those complications. I hope you read the series and will get the full experience of the raw emotion my characters depict."

This is my particular style of writing. Do I write HEA? Yes, no, maybe...it depends on how you look at the book as a whole.

What I DO write is from the heart. I write about things that happen in real life, hoping to evoke powerful emotions and that my readers can connect with the stories.

I write with passion, and include a lot of plot twists. Why? To keep the readers wanting to turn to the next page? Sure...to some degree. But also because in real life, as in my stories, just when you think you've got it all figured out, life can change in an instant.

What can you expect from my stories? Expect the unexpected.

Do my stories sound like ridiculous notions? Read the news, read the tabloids, hell, listen to a group of little old ladies at a family reunion!

Another thing I'd like to express: Though my books may be labeled as Fiction, I do, at times, draw from personal experiences...most authors do to some degree. Do the views portrayed in my stories reflect my personal ones? Not necessarily. For every review you read about my books, good or bad, I probably get ten other readers messaging me that they were blown away by my stories, laughed, cried, wanted to throw their Kindle across the room, etc. Those are real life connections.

I sincerely hope if you're reading this, you'll take a chance on reading my books, not because I want to reap financial reward, but because I want to make you FEEL!

The woman who had asked me about my book did end up purchasing it, and said she was glad she did.

Whatever you are reading, whether it be another author's work, or mine, I wish you happy reading!
