Happy Book Birthday to Meeeeee!!!
One year ago today, I published my very first book, The Sweetest Taboo: An Unconventional Romance. Never in a million years did I consider writing as a serious thing. I played around, but to formulate a plan in a short amount of time and hit publish? Something I didn't even think to do until three-five months before it happened. Piss poor planning on my part but winging it seems to work for me. Well, so far, LOL. Woooooo!
Last Thanksgiving, I was watching my sales ranking on Amazon. Little did I know, I'd hit #1 in my category (Interracial Erotica) right out the gate. Never happens for a new author. Shocked doesn't even begin to describe how I felt. To have it happen my very first time publishing was AMAZING!!! Hell, I was hoping I could get 10 people to buy my book. Today, I celebrate the day where a whole bunch of things changed for me. I thank each and every one of you who purchased The Sweetest Taboo, those of you who wrote reviews, those who shared my buy links, those who told their friends about the book, those who featured the book on their blogs (HUGE shout out to Jess and the ladies at Sweet N Sassy Book A Holics for taking me under their wing), those who helped my promo campaign, those who email/message me to tell me how much you love Micah and Rick, etc.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thanks so much for taking a chance on this chick. Thank you for following my writing journey. Can't wait to see what the upcoming year brings.
And a special thank you to two ladies who held my hand and helped me through all the ugly parts: Author Allyn Lesley and Thor (my editor) aka Daphne. Love you guys!
