please read one more. Give it a chance. I didn't really feel overwhelmed by the first one either. I liked it but not much more. But for someone to have written 20 books in a series I said to myself I've missed something here. So I bought the second one and I was hooked. I am so glad I tried another and I am sure you will too.
I actually started w/ the second VR book (have not read the first), and continued on w/ many in the series. I LOVE them!
