I feel a challenge coming on! But I think the real point is your word "mimic". I do believe we could mimic what Pratchett has written already, but where we'd fall down is in not having the Pratchett-imagination to create something *new* yet true to Discworld. Bother it.
Challenge accepted! (OK, I watch "How I met Your Mother", high five!). I just got back from my daily stroll and pondered through a new plot including Vimes and the patrician. I am about to do a write-up on this subject on my newly-created blog. If you are interested in following, the address is: https://novelistdave.wordpress.com/
Please note though, that since this will be based on copyrighted material, I will not be able to disclose anything without Sir Pterry's permission. Once I am done, and I feel the work worthy, I will approach him.
I am excited!

I wonder though if Rhianna (his daughter) may inherently emulate those idiosyncrasies from Pterry. If he is serious about handing over the Discworld to her, I would think it prudent for them to devise some collaborative efforts in an attempt to ease her into his thought processes and style.
I know the phrase "chip off the old block" holds some weight, my thought processes are quite similar to my dad's, and my brother even more so.
She is apparently a gifted writer, though from what I have found out, she is a video game scriptwriter at the moment (which can actually be quite a tough gig).
As a writer myself, it would be an interesting little diversion to compose a couple of chapters based on say Vimes and the Watch, and see just of how close of a mimic I can be.
