David, I do like your approach to this task. I was in a bookstore today myself and tried to lift the Donougher version. A two-volume version would be great. Right now I'm working my way through those wacky Karamazov brothers, a book I can just barely heft. I'll keep watching this site to learn your conclusions about LM. I'm not going with "nark." I bet that's the Rose version.
