I am chirping in on this also if you hav not read it hold off rad the books in the series in order you absolutely appreciate th book more; you can get away with reading by itself but if you wait you will appreciate it so much more!
I wouldn't it is a very dark book and if you haven't fallen in love with Ash some people have been turned off..
And make bloody sure you have several boxes of Kleenexes and I do mean several boxes! But as the others have said read the other books first, hun, because if you do you'll understand Ash so much better when you read his.
